Volunteers keep us going!
UTOPIA volunteers may come help us regularly, may come for special workdays or projects, or be part of our staff.  We mentor Senior and school projects, Boy Scout Eagle projects, corporate work days, community service hours, and DSI clients. Cummins employees have been regular helpers.  We need all levels of talent, from construction to landscape chores and cleaning.

Utopia Wildlife is pleased to announce that we have received funding for the new eagle enclosure with a combined donation from the families of Mr & Mrs Rick Johnson and Mr & Mrs Hutch Schumaker. This was facilitated by the Bartholomew County Heritage Foundation. Both families braved inclement weather to visit Utopia and meet some of our animal friends. Here, Kathy Hershey and Zephyr meet Ricky Johnson and Ab Schumaker.

Richard & Audrey Blackman

Audrey and Richard Blackman are board members and all-around volunteers.  From great advice to sewing and computer signs Audrey jumps in and saves the day for us every time.

Richard is our webmaster and computer guru.  His ideas and technical help with our programs are indispensable.  Because our wildlife and veterinary knowledge far surpasses our computer skills, this volunteer team is truly an asset to UTOPIA!

Nanette & Larry Howard

This is a photo of Nanette and Larry Howard our newest volunteers.  They have only been working with us a short time, but they are a Godsend.  They a all-around helpers and transport wildlife to us for the Greensburg area.

If you can't see it, Nanette is holding a little orphaned opossum that recently came to us.  Appreciative doesn't really sum up how we feel to have their help!

Kaylee and Denise Roberts have dropped by Utopia and helped us in many ways.

On this particular day they got their hands dirty preparing the base for an expanded raccoon cage.

Denise was joined by her sister's family as well.

Volunteers(2) Part of the Tom Grana fathers and kids voluteer group. These guys helped us so much! This hard working crew moved massive amounts of pea gravel into our new eagle enclosure. Do the look tired? They should be.
Volunteers(1) Left: That same day [as the picture above] we also had help from members of the Winding Waters Sierra Club, Columbus chapter. Thanks to Ryan Smith and his crew.
